Sparkling 20s Egg by Theo Faberge

Theo Fabergé was born on the 26th September 1922, during the Roaring Twenties, when there was spare money to spend after World War 1. The era of the first feature-length motion picture with soundtrack and the flapper fashions with feathers and fans.

The 1920´s fan also always reminded Theo of his World War 2 time, while he was in The Royal Airforce stationed in Egypt. The Egyptian fans often pictured with the likes of images of Queen Cleopatra of Egypt from 51 to 30 B.C.

Thus, the fan has been selected for Theo´s Centenary and decorates the exterior of the Sparkling 20´s Egg. The fans are in raised 23 kt gold over turquoise crystal and surmounted with the Imperial Crown set with a cabochon ruby. Rubies were Theo´s favorite gemstone.

Open the Egg to reveal the Centenary Celebration surprise – a red guilloché enamelled tray laid with a sparkling bottle of Champagne and two Champagne goblets of rose Champagne – represented by sparkling brilliant cut rubies. The tray has a central lifting column set with a further cabochon ruby.

This tray with a Champagne bottle bearing Theo Fabergé´s personal mark and Champagne glasses was designed by Theo Fabergé in 1985 as a gift to the owners of the shopping emporiums that Theo Fabergé visited in 1986.

Each Egg bears Theo Fabergé´s signature and the Egg Serial Number and is an Edition of only 100 Creations for the world market to celebrate the Centenary of his birth.
