Celebration Egg header

The 80th birthday of Theo Fabergé will be celebrated as a tribute to past and present times. The masterwork marking this milestone is Theo's CELEBRATION EGG. The Egg shell is crafted of hand-turned sterling silver and with deep blue enamel -- the guilloche enamel technique popularized by Theo's grandfather, Carl Fabergé. In acknowledging his famous Russian as well as English heritage , the shell is mounted with the Romanov crest of the double-headed Russian Eagle of the Czars and also decorated with the English Lion and Unicorn, all crafted in vermeil.
The shell top is surmounted with the Russian Imperial Crown in vermeil set with a cabochon sapphire and the bottom shell of the Egg is embellished with Theo's own interpretation of the Fabergé swags. The base is ornamentally turned on Theo's Holtzapfel lathe dating from 1861.

In keeping with the Carl Fabergé tradition of miniature creations, the Egg reveals a surprise upon opening the shell: the English Coronation Coach. This lavishly detailed vermeil coach not only honors the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II -- which coincides with Theo's 80th birthday celebration -- but pays homage to Carl Fabergé's famed Imperial Coronation Egg created for the last Czar.

The CELEBRATION EGG will bear Theo's personal hallmark especially adapted for his 80th birthday, as well as being signed and numbered with an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity. The Egg comes complete with display case bearing Theo's signature.
